LUKA'S ROOM Extended for two more weeks - NOW through October 4th at Rogue Machine Theatre in L.A.

Sarah Scott’s Angie, Uncle Nick’s weed customer for whom Luka immediately falls, possesses all the requisite sexiness of the older, more experienced object of teen desire. Scott then brings an undercurrent of awareness and shame that gives the entire work its core of emotion. One line in particular, delivered any other way, would come off as trite, but through her performance, it’s heartbreaking, and tells not only her story, but the stories of so many 20-somethings who find themselves mislead and displaced. Her absence from stage outlines deep harms. It’s as if a lantern was left in her place.
